Bay Ferries Limited operates the “THE CAT” high speed ferry between Yarmouth, Nova Scotia and Bar Harbor, Maine. We are currently seeking candidates for the position of Customer Service Associate in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. There are full-time and part-time seasonal opportunities available.

The Customer Services Associate ensures that our reputation for excellent customer service, effective communication, and passenger safety is experienced by all who chose to use our services and travel on “THE CAT”.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide excellent customer service
• Check passengers in and ensure any special requirements are met
• Demonstrate commitment and adherence to Health and Safety
• Book or modify reservations using electronic reservation system
• Balance cash and credit card transactions and complete end of day reports
• Direct customers to appropriate traffic lane or seating areas for customs clearance and boarding
• Maintain cleanliness of washrooms and terminal buildings
• Communicate professionally by phone and email
• Prepare reports, complete checklists, and communicate by phone and email

Qualifications:

• 2-5 years experience providing excellent customer service and resolving conflict
• Mathematics skills including the ability to handle cash, reconcile payments and complete bank deposits
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and email
• Operate a 3-way Radio
• Communication and conflict resolution skills
• Experience in the marine industry would be an asset
• Commitment to wear uniform according to standards and maintain good grooming
• Speaking or writing skills in another language, particularly French or Spanish, is an asset
