All aboard as we take a look at the finest moments on the ferries this year.
2019 was a great year aboard the mv Fundy Rose, the mv Holiday Island, and the mv Confederation. We saw visitors from far and wide step onto our vessels to cross the beautiful Maritime waters. These visitors took the time to share their unforgettable moments with us, both on and off the ferries, sharing everything from landscapes and lighthouses to dogs. Today, we want to share some of those photos with you to inspire your future journeys with us. Here are a few of our favourite moments on and around our ferries in 2019 — all captured by you!
When you set your eyes on a lighthouse, it’s a sure sign that land is near. Guiding ships to shore for centuries, the Maritimes are filled with these unique, beautiful buildings. They come in all shapes and sizes and are very photogenic.
@mmoris captured this photo of the iconic Peggys Point Lighthouse, standing tall over the rocks of Peggys Cove, Nova Scotia. With 160 lighthouses in Nova Scotia alone, how many will you be able to find?
Green’s Point Lighthouse, all dressed up in the holiday spirit, creates the setting for an ideal spot to relax by the ocean. We can smell the salty air now, thanks to this photo from @brittanywaycott!
Is it a bird? A plane? No — it’s the West Point Lighthouse on Prince Edward Island captured by @jdphotos01. One of the over two-dozen lighthouses on the Island.
The views you’ll see from our ferries are unlike any other and make for moments that must be captured forever. Take a look at some of our favourite coastal views.
@eyeforthis hopped aboard the Fundy Rose to New Brunswick and travelled to Grand Manan Island, the largest of islands in the Bay of Fundy.
With so many beautiful photo opportunities in Prince Edward Island, you’ll never leave with an empty camera roll. There’s nothing like catching your first glimpse of the red cliffs as you approach PEI. @jenessaduval captured the colours beautifully in her photo.
You’ve got to photograph views like this. Thank you to @rascoh, who photographed the stunning Pictou County scene. Experience this quaint town after your journey aboard the mv Confederation or the mv Holiday Island.
Dogs on the Ferries
Four-legged furiends are welcome to travel on our ferries. While travelling on the mv Fundy Rose, pets are welcome to remain in your vehicle or our kennel facilities. On the mv Holiday Island and mv Confederation, they’re even allowed on deck with you, just remember your leash or carrier crate (and to snap a photo)!
Don’t believe us? Take a look at this stunning shot from @dailyadventuredogs. These guys look like they’re really enjoying their ride.
@oonathenewfie experienced her first boat ride on her way to see her grandma. We’d love to see how big she is now!
@carl_the_frenchie_ took his vacation to the next level, literally.
@foxy_roxstar has been on planes, trains and now, ferries!
The Ferries in Action
Now it’s time for our shining stars, the ferries themselves. If it weren’t for these vessels, we wouldn’t have these great photos to look back on.
Blue skies, blue waters, and the mv Fundy Rose — the perfect trio captured by @candessa4.
@thelittleislandyogi captured this breathtaking sunset on the mv Confederation.
@scottonthego found the perfect spot on the mv Fundy Rose to keep an eye out for marine life!
Here’s to 2020!
As you can see, we’ve had a fantastic year aboard the mv Fundy Rose, the mv Holiday Island, and the mv Confederation, and we’re looking forward to an even better 2020. The start of a new decade calls for new adventures! We can’t wait to see your photos when you board our ships.
