Travel on the Ferry

There’s nothing better than traveling aboard the mv Confederation and the mv Holiday Island to kick off your PEI getaway. Just thinking about making our way across the water to Prince Edward Island aboard the ferries is enough to have us wishing summer vacation started today!

Before you set sail for PEI this summer, you’ll need to know the ferry schedule. Keep your eyes peeled for our 2019 sailing dates (which we’ll be announcing soon) so you can find a crossing that works best for you.

Planning on making several trips to The Island this summer? First of all, lucky you! Second, take a look at some of our great special offers, including pass booklets and gift certificates for a ride on the ferry (a perfect gift for the wanderluster in your life).

And remember, travelling to PEI with your furry friends is easy aboard the mv Confederation and mv Holiday Island! They can even hang out on the deck with you. You can learn more about our pet-friendly travel policies here.

Find the Perfect Spot to Stay

Breakfast in hotel room

You’re not the only one thinking of an escape to Prince Edward Island this summer. In fact, in 2017, more than a million people stayed overnight on PEI (and yet, somehow, The Island still feels like the East Coast’s best kept secret). With this in mind, when you’re planning your trip, it’s important to also book your accommodations so you have a place to rest your head after days spent exploring or relaxing at the beach.

We’re happy to help you find a place to stay while you’re visiting PEI (or anywhere else in the Maritimes). Check out these listings in Charlottetown, PEI’s capital city located about 50 km from the Wood Islands Ferry Terminal. Alternatively, if you’d rather stay somewhere outside of “Town,” take some time to browse these listings from across the province. Before long, you’ll have the perfect accommodations for your vacation!

Discover What’s Happening!

Summer on Prince Edward Island is a very special time. From lighthouse chasing to lobster dinners, outdoor activities to record-breaking shows, you’ll find something for everybody when you visit. If you’re an Anne of Green Gables fan, your trip won’t be complete without stopping to explore Green Gables Heritage Place in Cavendish. Here, several museums illuminate the story of Anne, as well as her creator, Lucy Maud Montgomery. After a day spent learning about this wonderful story, make your way to Charlottetown to watch Anne of Green Gables the Musical as it is performed for the 55th consecutive summer.

The best way to keep up to date on everything happening on Prince Edward Island is by checking out Explore the Maritimes, where we’re always posting information on things to do, perfect photos to snap, awesome places to visit, and more! Take a look for yourself, and be sure to take notes so you don’t miss any of the fun.
