Know Before You Go

Bay Ferries Limited has introduced new safety measures to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 and provide a safe ferry voyage between Saint John, New Brunswick and Digby, Nova Scotia. We’ve taken a series of measures to help enforce safe social distancing and have implemented a contactless check-in process.

Travelling to New Brunswick

Travel into New Brunswick is now further restricted and will be permitted only for work; medical reasons; obtaining essential supplies for the communities of Pointe-à-la-Croix and Listuguj First Nation, in Quebec; and child custody or compassionate reasons if approved by Public Health. Under the new restrictions, Canadian residents who own property in the province or who have family members (parents, children, siblings, grandchildren, grandparents, significant other) residing in New Brunswick will no longer be permitted to enter the province. Travellers coming from New Brunswick will have to self-isolate upon arrival in Nova Scotia and complete the Nova Scotia Safe Check-in form.

All other travellers into Nova Scotia must self-isolate for 14 days when they arrive in Nova Scotia, or for the duration of their stay if it’s less than 14 days.

People who enter from outside Atlantic Canada must self-isolate for 14 days upon arrival in Nova Scotia unless you have an exemption.

Exemptions from this requirement are for people in certain jobs and situations, as long as they do not have symptoms of COVID-19. While they are exempt from 14 days of self-isolation, people with exemptions must still meet certain requirements outlined in this travel protocol to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. You will also be required to complete a Nova Scotia Safe Check-in Form before you travel to Nova Scotia.
