BAR HARBOR 2019

Update July 15, 2019

Due to continued construction and related approval processes at the Bar Harbor ferry terminal, it is anticipated that the earliest date on which any service could commence is in the late summer range. Efforts are being made to accelerate the start date; but, in the meantime, all customers holding bookings on the season will be offered full refunds on their reservations and no new reservations will be accepted until there is more definitive timing. Passengers will be offered alternate passage, where available, between Saint John and Digby on MV Fundy Rose. The company will communicate directly with its customers on these changes.

Bay Ferries Limited deeply regrets any inconvenience caused to our customers and impacts on our partners and the hospitality industry.

We will continue to make every effort to support the Southwest Nova tourism industry, and Nova Scotia tourism industry, in any way possible.

June 21, 2019

As previously advised, it is anticipated that the earliest date on which any service could commence is in the mid-summer. At this time, all reservations prior to and including July 18, 2019, will be canceled and passengers will be re-routed, subject to customer wishes and availability to MV Fundy Rose (traveling between Saint John, NB and Digby, NS). Progress will be continually assessed and the company will communicate directly with its customers and the public once further parameters are known.

Bay Ferries Limited deeply regrets any inconvenience caused to our customers. We will continue to provide updates on ferries.ca and please feel free to contact us anytime at 1-877-762-7245.

June 7, 2019

Bay Ferries Limited announces a delay in the re-commencement of 2019 ferry service to and from Bar Harbor, Maine. Delays have arisen mainly due to the complexity of the construction and approvals process associated with the renovation of the Bar Harbor ferry terminal.

It is now anticipated that the earliest date on which any service could commence is in the mid-summer.

At this time, all reservations prior to July 7, 2019, will be canceled and progress will be continually assessed going forward. The company will make direct contact with all customers concerning these reservations and will explain possible options, including travel on MV Fundy Rose between Saint John, New Brunswick, and Digby, Nova Scotia.
We will continue to provide updates on ferries.ca and please feel free to contact us anytime at 1-877-762-7245.

Thank you for your support and we regret for any inconvenience caused by this.

February 25, 2019

We’re very excited The CAT is coming back home to Bar Harbor in 2019. From the 2020 season going forward, we anticipate our operating season will commence around Memorial Day weekend (last weekend of May). This year we are undertaking a substantial rebuilding of the Bar Harbor ferry terminal to prepare for the return of The CAT. Our scheduled season start for 2019 is, therefore, June 21. Because of the complexity of the work we, along with many partners, are doing it is always possible that this start date could change. We’ll keep you posted of any change as soon as we know. Feel free to contact us any time at 1-877-762-7245 or visit ferries.ca for an update.

Thanks for your support, and we look forward to seeing you this summer.

The CAT 3.5 hour trip leaves Nova Scotia in the morning and returns from Maine in the afternoon. Please note that this schedule is subject to change.

Please check in at the Terminal one hour in advance of your scheduled sailing time.

For Yarmouth departures, check-in is same day only, prior to boarding.

For Bar Harbor departures, we will accept passengers and vehicles for boarding after 1:30 pm on the day of departure. If your travel schedule permits, we encourage you to come to the terminal after 3:00 pm on the day before sailing, or before 12:00 noon on the date of sailing, for early check-in, which will facilitate the boarding process.
