Cats and dogs are welcome at Bay Ferries and on board The CAT.
Our terminals at Yarmouth and Bar Harbor have designated outdoor pet relief areas – look for the signs. Please note U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the Canada Border Services Agency require pet owners to clear customs before exiting their vehicle with a pet.
On the ship pets must remain comfortably in your vehicle or stay in an onboard kennel on the vehicle deck. Exception: Documented service animals on leash are permitted on the passenger deck. Please advise us at check-in if you require a kennel as they are limited and provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
In preparation for the sailing:
Pets may not leave the vehicle decks. They are not permitted on inside or outside passenger decks.
For safety reasons, pet owners are not permitted to stay with, or visit pets during the voyage. Crew members monitor the vehicle deck, which is kept at a comfortable temperature. We will let you know if your pet appears uncomfortable, via an announcement.
