Lunenburg County Pride: July 6-12

With its sparkling waters and colourful historic buildings, Lunenburg makes a beautiful destination for a road trip, especially during Pride, when families and volunteers come together to celebrate diversity, authenticity and love. Pride on the Shore kicks off strong with the Pride Parade in Bridgewater, the neighbouring town to Lunenburg. The parade passes through downtown and continues along the stunning LaHave River. Events range from drag shows and family picnics, to art showcases and community gatherings. It’s a week filled with visibility and connection.
Halifax Pride: July 17-27

Halifax is home to the biggest Pride celebration in Atlantic Canada. Halifax’s LGBTQIA+ offerings were named one of the top 10 reasons to visit the city in 2025, and there’s no better way to take it all in than at Pride. This year’s calendar of events includes annual favourites as well as some new, shiny festivities you are bound to remember. In fact, you can expect over 30 signature events, as well as more than 100 community-organized events. Start your week with exciting opening events like the QTBIPOC Showcase and The Bump and The Grind. Then, find the perfect spot to watch the parade on July 19, and don’t miss the March & Candlelight Vigil on July 21—a powerful tribute to those who’ve fought for Pride throughout history. And, of course, it wouldn’t be Pride in Halifax without the legendary softball game, taking place July 27 at the Commons. Get the latest info on Halifax Pride on their website.
PEI Pride: July 25-August 3

PEI Pride pairs perfectly with sandy beaches, great music and sunny weather. Since 1994, PEI Pride has taken to the streets of Charlottetown, raising the voices of 2SLGBTQIA+ members and demonstrating support for equity and equality. This year, the Pride Parade is on July 26 and will feature an accessible route and viewing options. The celebrations don’t stop there. Get ready for a full line up of events, including socials, markets and the iconic Rainbow Road Party.
Fun fact, Pride PEI also hosts a winter festival known as Polar Pride, because Pride is worth celebrating all year long!
Saint John Pride: August 8-17

After PEI Pride, you have some time to recover from all the fun before Saint John Pride in August. While you’re strolling downtown and along the beautiful waterfront, keep your eyes peeled for 2SLGBTQIA+ stickers and signage on window storefronts, showing support for the community all year round. This year’s festival promises fabulous shows, delicious food, lively festivities and more. And they all lead up to the Saint John Pride Parade on August 16. You can learn more about what Pride looks like in Saint John and the meaning behind their initiatives on their website.
Wherever your travels take you in the Maritimes this summer, make room in your itinerary for some local Pride events, and let the ferries help get you there.
Check out drag storytimes at local libraries, look out for flag-raising ceremonies on social media, and consider supporting a 2SLGBTQIA+ organization like the Youth Project.
