2020 is definitely a year we’ll all remember. It was a special one for our passengers who set sail on MV Fundy Rose or Northumberland Ferries. For some, it was a chance to get out on a much-needed escape and re-discover this beautiful place we call home. For others, it was a chance to spend valuable time catching up with friends and family.
No matter what brought you on a ferry, we’re thankful to always have a Maritime adventure waiting in our own backyard. We’re also grateful to our passengers for capturing some incredible moments on our ferries this year. And today, we want to share some of those memories with you.
It’s no secret that families like to spend time together travelling on our ferries. It’s the perfect chance for everyone to get some fresh air and see stunning scenery on a daycation or vacation of any length!
@indie_home captured this great moment of the whole family having fun on the way to Prince Edward Island. We think this deserves a gold medal for form and style.
This family photo from @with_my_three_sons shows there’s always something to catch your eye, no matter your age, while playing on Canada’s Ocean Playground. Hats are a great way to keep the sun out of your eyes while hanging out on deck.
@romesonaquest did a great job following the rules while exploring the Atlantic bubble in Prince Edward Island this summer. This year wouldn’t have been possible without everyone like Rome playing their part!
@itspaigegreene shared this wonderful photo of her and her child enjoying the sun hitting the water from the comfort of inside the ferry. But as this little one shows, there’s lots of cool detail in the ferry to grab your attention too.
Our ferries have the best seat in the house when it comes to taking in views of the Atlantic Ocean while travelling between Maritime provinces. It’s hard to resist taking out your camera to capture the beauty of the sun setting for the day with the gorgeous background of water and scenic coastlines.
@1_percent_of_the_world captured this perfect moment of the sun just dipping down to the horizon while travelling between Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. Those are some great colours.
This photo from @nictakushi shows it’s called golden hour for a reason. We can’t get enough of ferry travel during this magical time of day.
@fallinlovewithatlanticcanada captured some great hues of blue on the Bay of Fundy. The sky and ocean look great, and so does the deck of the Fundy Rose travelling between Digby and Saint John.
As you can see, our passengers captured some great moments of all the views and thrills of taking the ferry. But we must say, our ferries are pretty photogenic as well! And you captured some great moments as they sailed through Canada’s ocean playground.
This photo by @alec_mcgrath_of_canada showcases Northumberland Ferries in a way that the sea birds of the Maritimes know well!
@kevins.camera.klicks captured Northumberland Ferries gliding through the big blue ocean on this beautiful day.
Of course, the ferry isn’t the only thing you’re going to take photos of while exploring the Maritimes. Our passengers found picturesque locations across all three provinces while adventuring in 2020.
@brittanywaycott found this lighthouse looking mighty festive during a sunset in New Brunswick.
And @atlnortheast proved that no two lighthouses are the same with this snap from Prince Edward Island.
Autumn in the Maritimes is something else as these vibrant colours from Cape Breton captured by @daveandsky show. The fall foliage on this island is worthy of a fall getaway every year.
What a memorable year for MV Fundy Rose and Northumberland Ferries! As you can see from these photos, it was full of gorgeous views and quality family time. Oh, and our ferries looked pretty great too! The New Year is full of promise, and we’re excited to see what comes next. We hope you are as well, and will join us on the water in 2021 to explore the Maritimes!
