Northumberland Ferries Limited to Resume Service

CHARLOTTETOWN – Don Cormier, Vice President of Northumberland Ferries Limited, issued the following update on the Prince Edward Island-Nova Scotia ferry service:

“Service will resume Wednesday, July 27, 2022, on the following interim four round trip/day schedule on MV Confederation:

Departing Wood Islands: 07:00,  10:00,  13:30, 17:00
Departing Caribou: 08:30, 11:45, 15:15, 18:30”

“We are working on a plan to expand the schedule to six round trips/day sometime next week. An update will be provided by the end of this week.”

“We still have significant recovery efforts ongoing with the Holiday Island involving many safety and environmental aspects, along with an ongoing Transportation Safety Board investigation, but want to assure our customers that we are confident ferry service can safely resume. Safety is, and will continue to be, of the utmost importance.”

“Our customer care teams will be contacting customers who had reservations on sailings outside this interim four round trip/day schedule to rebook them on one of the above sailings. We appreciate your patience as we focus on minimizing the impact this may have to our customers.”

Our Company wishes to again express our appreciation to our customers for their patience as we return to ferry operations.
