Please note that a PEI Pass is required for entry to Prince Edward Island in order to be exempt from self-isolation.

Please be advised that the schedule is subject to change without notice and is contingent on provincial travel restrictions. Travel will be subject to compliance with all company COVID-19 safety measures including screening and testing protocols imposed by Transport Canada or provincial Chief Public Health Offices.

Please note that one-way travel from Caribou, Nova Scotia to Wood Islands, Prince Edward Island is available at no fee on a first come, first served basis, however spaces cannot be guaranteed without a reservation. Travellers who wish to book a one-way reservation from Caribou, Nova Scotia will be subject to a fee of $82. One-way bookings from Caribou may later be converted to round-trip bookings at no additional fee should travellers decide to exit Prince Edward Island via ferry. Travellers departing Prince Edward Island via the Confederation Bridge will be responsible for paying the Confederation Bridge toll.

Since 1941, Northumberland Ferries has been transporting passengers and their vehicles between Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia. In fact, you probably remember taking the ferry as a child – it’s time to make those special memories again with your family! This 75-minute ferry trip runs across the Northumberland Strait between Wood Islands, Prince Edward Island and Caribou, Nova Scotia, just outside of historic Pictou. Walk or drive aboard our vessels – mv Confederation and mv Holiday Island – then relax, stretch your legs, and experience the beauty of the Maritime sea and sky.
