Our vessels weather all four seasons in the Maritimes, and it’s our pleasure to have you on board to explore the wonders our three provinces offer year-round. While we spend most of our time ship-bound, sailing from port to port, we love getting to experience the Maritimes through your eyes and lenses! So join us for a quick sail down memory lane as we look back at all the fantastic pictures you took on and off-board over these last 12 months.
For those of you willing to brave the chilly weather of a Maritime spring, our woods are the perfect place to stretch your legs after a long winter or journey on the ferry. @saryfit and their family spent the afternoon tramping through the snow on a sunny day through the trails and wilderness of the east coast.
Nothing makes the red of a lighthouse pop more than a fresh blanket of snow, and @jiayusuphoto captured it perfectly!
One of the amazing geological attributes of our coastline is the abundance of seaside cliffs. On a hot day or after a rainfall, you may see water running off these banks and back to the ocean. But early in the year? These cliffs turn into incredible frozen waterfalls. Thanks for the picture, @_jodiejarvis_!
This spring, The CAT Ferry came back and sailed between Yarmouth, Nova Scotia and Bar Harbor, Maine, from May through October. We are so glad to have this fantastic ship as a link between us and our close neighbour, the United States of America. This picture of The CAT was photographed by @engelvoelkersns.
Summer: the perfect time for beach days, ocean waves, and exploring new towns. Passengers like you were Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island’s best ambassadors as you jetted from province to province, soaking in the sun.
@letsgowithmiklo took the ferry between Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island to catch the sun on both sides of the Northumberland Strait.
You soaked in the views of the Bay of Fundy while sailing on MV Fundy Rose, like Jee-Pee Chretien (FB).
And the cutest passengers we’re able to join their families on the deck to get a whiff of fresh ocean air, like @foxy_roxstar and all their travelling companions.
We were please to welcome special guests like Stonehammer Geo Park on board MV Fundy Rose to interpret the Bay of Fundy.
@thelittleislandyogi perfectly captures how relaxing it is to sail off into the sunset.
Life may start to slow down a little in the fall, but it also gets much sweeter. Sweaters come out of the closet, the sun takes on a comforting golden glow, and the leaves turn vibrant hues of red, orange, and yellow.
@lapetitewatson took advantage of a sunny fall day to go apple picking at a local U-Pick farm.
It might be a little cooler on board as you stand on the deck, but the views remained just as remarkable. @youcanalwayshavemore took advantage of the great weather we had this fall and watched their destination get closer by the minute.
And everyone clambered to our favourite shops and markets every weekend to support local and bring a taste of their travels home with them.
As we approached the winter months, you were able to find local gems to spend your time in that reminded you that brighter days are ahead.
While the sun set earlier than the previous months, @506_photography and others were able to prove how gorgeous these moments can be.
Carollers came onboard MV Confederation to make sure travellers’ trips were filled with festive cheer and ushered people home for the holidays with a smile on their faces.
What a memorable year for MV Fundy Rose, Northumberland Ferries, and The CAT! As you can see from these photos, it was full of gorgeous views and quality family time all season long. The New Year is full of promise, and we’re excited to see what comes next. We hope you are as well and will join us on the water in 2023 to explore the Maritimes!
