To celebrate, we’re sharing some of our favourite date ideas around the provinces for every type of couple!

There’s something romantic about the Maritimes. From the rugged coastlines to the beautiful natural wonders, it’s the kind of place you can easily fall in love with. It’s also a perfect spot to plan a delightful date! So if you’re looking to wow a special someone with an unforgettable experience, here are a few fun events and romantic ideas for you and your loved one to do in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island.

Win Their Heart in Halifax

Imagine this. You and your partner lace up your skates, step out onto the ice, and begin to gracefully glide while holding hands. You spin, you twirl, and you skate as you make wonderful winter memories. A date night of skating at Emera Oval in Halifax is an idyllic date for a budding romance. Best of all, you can skate at the oval throughout the year! Enjoy ice skating in the winter and roller skating during the warmer months.

Another great wintertime date idea is tobogganing down the snow-blanketed hills in the city. Our favourite, of course, is Citadel Hill. However, if you and your partner are more adventurous, a slide down Merv Sullivan Park may be just the hill you need to get your adrenaline pumping.

And what’s the perfect balance for an exciting skate or slide? A quiet, relaxed, romantic dinner, of course. Halifax is a culinary delight, with plenty of restaurants to end your night at. If you have a taste for Latin cuisine, Bar Sofia is the spot for you. If you’re feeling some Japanese food, a trip to Kyo Kitchen and Bar is an option. Or maybe you want a good ol’ slice of stone-fired pizza? Give Score Pizza a try. Whichever you decide, we are sure your date night will begin and end with lots of love and laughter.

Toast to a Romantic Date

Outside of the city of Halifax, a cute romantic date idea is one at the wineries in the Valley. Swirl, sip and savour your way through reds, whites and rosès at some of Nova Scotia’s renowned wineries. Stop at Luckett Vineyards and relish a one-of-a-kind dining experience with a view that inspires love and romance. While there, don’t forget to capture the memory of your date by taking some photos at their iconic telephone booth. Another option to consider is Benjamin Bridge. Open year-round by appointment, a date here may require some special effort and planning. But once planned, the experience is unimaginable. From outdoor skating with a picturesque view of the Gaspereau Valley to hiking trails to a charming river landing, you and your love can cozy up around a fire while enjoying a glass of fine wine.
